Why we started Ember & Coil
"My uncle smoked for 32 years. Nothing worked until vaping did."
In 2017, our founder Daniel Whitfield was a community pharmacist in Melbourne running smoking-cessation consults. He kept seeing the same pattern — patches, gum and Champix would help for weeks, then patients would relapse. When his own uncle finally switched to a refillable pod in 2016 and stayed off cigarettes for the first time in three decades, Daniel started building Ember & Coil from his kitchen table.
We exist because adult Australian smokers deserve plain-English information, honest product recommendations and a retailer that takes regulation seriously — not a dropshipped storefront chasing margins.
